Flit-e's ranger build thread

Robert_1967 I am concerned about engine temperature the fan I have is little so I might run two. With this project everything is a guessing game.

HOLY BAT-SNOT!!! Hey test-pilot, are you trying for lift-off?! That thing is SICK!

Nothing to really report been busy trying to figure out wiring. I did get the catchcan installed and a solid mount for my ecu. Going to route my serial cable through the cubby hole above the glove(ecu) box lol. Placed an order with summit for some odds and end to button up the fuel system mainly a pressure gauge. As well as boots to plumb in the driverside turbo. When i get the wiring done its 8 hours a day working on the beast with no pix worthy progress :bawling:

My plan is to fire the engine here shortly NA and check everything. then attach intake and :3gears:

List of whats left:
fuel pressure guage
wiring < current battle
turbo oil feed lines
mount IAT sensor in innercooler piping
plumb driverside turbo
plumb intake from FMIC
tighten random bolts
check routing on everything
fill coolant
fill transmission
adjust fuel pressure
kick down cable install
wire tails and such
install fuel door

progress has slowed way down

oil lines for turbos and the intake is fitted need to make a bov flange and weld her in

Aren't you missing a brake booster????

Also, I'm surprised that you was able to get the grill bolted on, but I'm glad you did.

it's nice looking truck.

Can't run one hits the turbo :( hope 4 wheel disk can stop it. It fits but ALOT of trimming took place to get it.
Thank you I can't wait to tint the windows think it should look BA.

I do wish it looked more sleeperish

Well it runs. still working on tuning. engine heat is a major issue, for now im running around with the hood off :bawling:. need to switch rear ends she is a one tire fire queen :3gears:. ill try to get some pictures now that it leaves the shop on a regular basis. Still considered a project so many little things need to be taken care of. I'm hoping that with some header wrap and turbo blankets i can get the underhood temps down. anyones thoughts on removing the t-stat if that might help?

here are some pictures of all that has been done.

Very nice work!

Couldn't help but notice the DoD sticker on the windshield...which branch of service?

Thanks drsvox. DoD sticker was from the previous owner

gotcha!

truck really does look great! you incorporated some nice subtleties (like the hood pins and getting rid of the side markers), and I like that.

I plan on keeping the side markers on mine...just wish I could find some clear lenses (if that's even allowed...?)

If you could find clears just have to run colored bulbs does l lmc have clear ones?
Had to run hood pins the latch was removed to make way for intercooler pipe.
