flickering oil gauge??

hey all...i just had a new cat and borla muffler installed and it sounds great, but i have only noticed now that the oil gauge sometimes filckers(goes down to low then jumps back up like there is a short)never when just driving but only sometimes when sudden accel.???? i am new here and new to the ranger scene but is this a flaky gauge that happened when i installed the exhaust?,sending unit gone bad? or what ?.....anything helps guys...

first off fords oil gauge is just a dummy gauge it goes to the middle even if there is a little bit of pressure ussually. Second off check your oil you may be low if you havent checked it. Second change the sending unit it only cost a few bucks and takes one wrench to change then if still having issue you may want to hook up an aftermarket oil gauge and keep and eye on it you then may need a new pump

thanks man i found the problem.......the fuk nut at the ford dealer didn't put the recommended amount of oil in it.....just lucky no damage was done.....i didn't even think of checking until the last thing as i ASSUMED they did their job....
