Hey all ,My question is?
I have a 98 Ranger 4x4,4.0 v-6 ,My problem is when it is cold out and my truck sits for about 4-6 hrs after it starts (no problem) all the lights will flicker at idle for a few minutes until the truck warms up,or if I bring upthe revs, then they stop. If it's warm out 40deg or so and warmer it doesn't do it.I checked the voltage at the battery 14.5v running and 12v off, 14.5v at alternator also.My thinking is that the alternator is hanging up from the cold..Any ideas? Thanks

well some one has a lose wire :icon_rofl:

my truck hates cold weather too, so i think it might be a ranger conspiracy thing? but it sounds like you already checked what i was thinking so it could be a loose wire or possibly a connection expanding and contracting with the temperature change?
