Flickering headlights

Hello,

I have a 93 XLT 4.0 V6.

Whether the headlights are in in low beam or highbeam, they occasionally flicker to the day time running lights. It is quite annoying.

Sometimes it does not happen at all. Sometimes they are flickering non stop.

The radio also shuts off and restarts at times, I think the headlights and the radio are connected in some way. If I pull the headlight switch the radio will restart. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

The battery, alternator, Serp Belt are all brand new. Not sure where to go next.

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Check the connector on the headlight switch. Could be the switch getting worn out, also. Otherwise, check for loose ground connections, especially in the cab. Make sure all your fuses are plugged in completely.

Before you mentioned the radio, I was thinking bad relay/module for daytime running lights.

Do you know how to access the switch?

I have heard something about loosening bolts by the ash tray?
