I'm trying to put my "new" engine back in my truck and when I looked at the book I am using to help me out it mentions I should use a "load spreader" or flexplate washer when I mount the flexplate to the engine. It didn't have one when I tore it apart and it seems like the web is a 50/50 on if it's needed or not. I can't find one for sale on-line and I sure would like to get this started.... (302 to a C4)

Any advice?

if it didn't have them, just used some blue locktite and go with it. Sometimes I've seen them with them and then without them.

Some had em,. some didn't. Just me, but I'd rather have it than not. I think I have one extra , let me look later this week and see.
