I recently beat up the bed on my ranger when i rolled it on its side. Anybody have a good flatbed design that I could use?

I would put a full-size axle in the back to give it a little more width--80". That will look a lot better than a bed with the same width as the cab--I hate the way narrow fat beds look. 80" will look just right with a Ranger cab. Then put 2x 3/4" strips along the Ranger frame rails to isolate the bed. Use 6" channel along the frame rails with 3" channel going across and either 3/16" double diamond or 2-by treated boards running longitudinally. The bed is held on with U-bolts. You need the height to clear the tires and some weight to keep it from riding like crap. Weld straps of 2" by 1/8" strap across the ends of the boards to hold them down. Cap the sides with 2x3x3/16" angle and install stake pockets and lights or something. Then you need a cool bumper with a pintle hook bolted to it.
