Can the ECU from my 98' ranger be flashed to run my 00' flex fuel motor at the more advanced timing settings and different fuel injectors?

Thanks for any pointers!

Philip

I do not think so, on a flex fuel you have added sensors, plus generally they come preprogrammed in those years, you don't reflash 'em.

Makes sense, I have gotten everything installed and the motor runs really rough and rich on the 98' ECU and I am thinking I will have to find a 00' ECU to replace it. I have the fuel system from the 00' ranger, but none of the wiring to go from the sensor and have no idea where it attaches into the remainder of the wiring that goes to the ECU. Not even my shop manual shows it on the wiring diagrams.

Well if the extra wiring you refer to is the fuel sensor to check the impedance of fuel to see how much alky is in it, it just may cause something like that.
