Hello,

Well my windshield seems to leak. Is there anything I can do to stop it, or do I need a professional? How would I go about fixing the leak?

Thanks

i just put a bead of calking about 1in. long from the windshield back in the "gutter" it seems to have worked with my truck

The correct thing is to call a professional....the cheap way (99% of us--me included) is to do the above. Both usually stop the leak, one is cheaper, one is prettier....

Permatex makes a product I've used before. It is flowable silicone, so it actually goes where the water goes, and then sets up. I suggest you put something down on the dash to catch anything that makes it's way into the cab.

I had this problem in my Explorer. After smacking the windshield with a hammer (I was replacing door hinges), the glass shop put in a new windshield and sealed it up proper. Nothing else I tried worked (I tried windshield Urethane and it wouldn't touch it). The glass shop did tell me that when they removed the old, busted windshield, they just pushed it out, no cutting involved.

autozone sells 3m window silicon it use a cuaking gun its like 15 bucks that what they use to but windows in just go around it

Are you sure it is the windshield? Other areas can leak and it can also look like the leak is coming from the windshield.

Just an FYI. If you have full coverage insurance (with windshield coverage), your insurance may pay for a new windshield. When I bought my Ranger it leaked. I called my agent and he said "anything on the windshield that impairs your vision is covered". I had to pay about 40 dollars (deductible) for a brand new windshield, but it was worth every penny.

I thought you may want to look into that.
