Hey everybody, just wanted to send out a big thanks to all the people who answer questions in the 2.9 forum. I recently started having issues with fuel delivery in the Ranger. It was running horrible and sometimes wouldn’t crank and smelled like gas something fierce. At first I thought it was just the FPR, fuel in the vacuum lines, replaced it. Turns out that fuel in the vacuum lines will destroy the brake booster, which it did, replaced it. Thought I was done fixing but no, so naive, the running rough was pretty much gone but the sometimes starting thing was still there. I had a new TFI I had picked up almost a year ago and never put it on, was dreading doing it. So I went ahead and put it on. It was a pain in the rear but the majority of the time spent was me grinding down a socket that would fit in the hole, because I am cheap and didn’t want to spend the money on the tool. Anyway that wasn’t it. Only cranked when it wanted to. Fuel pump wasn’t kicking on…ahh haa! My stomach sank thinking about buying a new pump, remember I’m cheap, but after researching in this forum I found what I hoped was the answer, grounds and relay, replaced the relay, checked the grounds. That was it!
So again thanks for all the answers.
