This cig lighter is pushed and fallen inside. I think the plastic clips might have given way. I was thinking of using huge washer that would go over the hole (paint it black to match dashboard). Looking for ideas on how to fix this or maybe swap it out with a usb outlet charger.

The best way to fix that is to change the bezel around the stereo, mine was broken on my '97. You could add a big washer to the front or add some plastic to the back to repair it but most of that won't be permanent.

I have one of those too. I haven’t decided on a plan of action yet though because I no longer need the 4x4 switch in mine so I don’t really need that bezel unless I want to try to mod it some way where the 4x4 switch is.

You can buy a bezel for a 2wd model, it doesn't have a spot for the 4x4 switch and the plug can pop in its new home

I have one of those too, needs a little repair because the clips that hold the vents in broke, but it will work. That’s why I’m undecided as to what I’m doing, weighing my options

I put a 22mm switch in mine. The trim ring fits it perfectly. Grind down the back some to seat the nut.

Thanx guys for the different ideas. Fixed this by installing a TEMU $3 usb charger, aided by a Dremel sander. Now the truck has a charging port like it’s the future baby, making the interior tech situation go from roughly “FM radio and a prayer.” IDK why I never did this earlier cos every time I needed to charge the phone I was always fumbling around with a janky adapter that took up the whole right side 12V outlet dangling like a Christmas ornament and this hole on left side just staring back at me like do something. Honestly, for three bucks, it’s the lowest-effort, highest-reward mod.

Used a Dremel to sand off the holding "lip" and then this plug slid right into the 12V socket hole, held in place by a fastening ring on the inside.
