I have a body lift, and have lift shackles in the rear (set at the lowest setting). I want to get 33x12.50 Duratracs, and 15x8 Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels, and I need to know if it will work if I install a 2" coil spacer and max out the shackles? I will have a total of 5" of lift.

I read on the"Tire Fitment Page" in the Tech Library and it says I may need fender trimming, but that page is for 4x4s... The page also says I could fit 35" tires with a 4" suspension lift and 3" body lift. Well that's a total of 7" to fit 35s. So why would I need to do any fender trimming if I have a total of 5" of lift, and the tires are 2" smaller than the 35s?

Anyway, is there anyone on here that has a 93-97 2wd with a 3" body lift and 2" leveling spacer with 33x12.50 tires?

The wheels I want to buy have a 3-5/16" back spacing...

Here is how my truck sits now with 31s:

i have 5 " of lift on my 88 and 33 dont rub

worst case... break out the sawzall (or cut off, or torch, or whatever) and do some trimming.

personally i'd get new front coils instead of spacers. get some jeep xj coils that flex better. would have to do some research to find out exactly what you need tho.

your fine without spacers. im running 33's on a 3"/4" lift on my 2006. I ran 32's on a stock 2wd. you want 4" back spacing if you can get it.

3" front 4" rear suspension, 33x10.50R15's, 4.56 gears

Anyone else have a 93-97 2wd with a 3" body lift, 2" suspension lift and 33x12.50-15's?

Anyone have some pics?

Bump...

33's would be 1'' smaller than 35s if your measuring from the center of the wheel out to the edge of the tire which would require 6'' of total lift required if you go by the above spec.

Thanks for the replies!

I decided that I want other stuff too, (more than just lifting my ranger), so I made some compromises. I really like the duratracs, so I got a set of 31's for my 2wd, bought me a really nice black A.R.E. cover for the bed, and in the next few weeks I will probably put a leveling kit on the front.

31's will save you money to since you won't feel as much of a need to regear... 33's will usually make people regear.

you got a good lucking truck... keep it up.

Actually I have the gearing for 33's; I have 4.56's. I just decided not to spend all my tax money on a 4" lift, new wheels and tires. I already bought a flareside bed and there were other things I wanted like dual 27" LED monitors, bed cover, and some other non-ranger stuff. :)

I think you should be good, I got the leveling spacers and 3 in body and I can fit 33's.

and dude, you need to post more pics of the trucK!

oh and how are the 4:56's on 31's?

:D

I decided against the 4" lift and 33's for now. Got some other stuff instead. And, I have gotten used to having that little extra that the 4.56's and 31's allow... :) Although, if and when I would put 33's on it, I would still be fine; it would put me back at pretty much stock ratios.

I should have started a (slow) build thread, though I think I would call it my "MOD" thread, cause I am not building anything... :) Then I would have a reason to post lots of pics...

Here is the latest:

Yeah, I read more and seen what you did. lol Cool, I got 4:10's for my8.8 I am building but I am thinking on going with 4:56's.

LOL Hey, I posted a Build thread on RPS its slow but starting to build up lol

and Truck looks great bud!

actually the best gearing for a 4cyl with 33s is 4.88 which I hope to be doing by summer time as im running 33x12.50.15 BFG KM2s

Update:

It's been a while, but I finally went for it and bought some new wheels and 33x12.50-15 Duratracs. No rubbing issues so far...
