Hey hope you all can help me out. I found a 93 2.3 manual trans ext cab for sale and need some advice. Its has been in an accident front and rear and has a make shift bumper in rear. Rust holes through body on bed. Odometer reads wrong, spedo is bouncy, ignition will turn 360s if not careful, seller said dont use parking brake. Has about 200k on it. It has a problem where it starts only some Times....seller said they tried all kinds of sensors o2 and cam sensor or something but cant figure out why it only starts when it it wants to. It cranks every time, just wont start, then, try again later and it fires up. I drove it and runs fine. Steering not very tight, not pretty at all... oh and it blew a brake line during test drive and lost brakes...
Oh and battery does not come with truck
$300

Whatcha think.

dont buy it save up for something a little nicer than complete junk

Run, screaming away. Better deals out there for a little more money. Someone needs to put that poor truck out of its misery so it doesn't suffer any longer.

:( i guess youre right. I really want a truck but this about as cheap as i will find one... hes fixing brake line tomorrow... what can i expect for $1200? That is my max budget

I guess i should add that this truck will scrap for 325...

And its not a dd... just a home depot mobile and extra car

last year i bought my first truck which was a 95 b2300 (see profile pic) with 48k, bone stock, with a shell for 1500. of course my boss was selling it for a deceased renter of his so i got a great deal haha. i put about a grand into it (wheels/tires, seats, sterio, exhaust, trim paint, maintenance). it was a super solid rig. so solid that i was able to sell it for 4k! but not everyone can be as fortunate to have a generous boss, so here's my opinion.

1200 will get you something with high miles, some mechanical issues, that will run and drive but most likely needs work.

but since its not a dd 1200 should get you something that fits your needs.

it also depends on where you live. like here in idaho everyone thinks rangers, wranglers, and toyota pickups carry some kind of insane market value and prices are always nearly double of what they book at. thats the only fathomable explanation as to why i got 4k out of mine.

i got my first ranger last year and its in great shape, other than a slight electrical issue but that happend months after i bought it.

before i saw this one i had a look at couple others that were from the same year, and was tempted to buy, but looking back they were pups. dont buy because its cheap buy because it works(mostly).

+2 on this, Bro. Look around. You will find a nice clean one. They are out there!!!

Yikes holes in frame? Screw that...not even good for parts most likely since the engine doesn't work, the body is shot, the frame is rusted, and that's the stuff you can see. You'd spend probably as much as a late model ranger to get it decent, but it will likely still suck. Def pass on it bro that's jy scrap.
