First Offroad testing 89 BII

Were the off road pictures taken with the sway bars disconnected? My old eyes just can't tell for sure.

Sway bars connected...i am just now testing travel, so i will un hook next time

@ecgreen you said you are only running 3"? Is that the Duff stage 2 kit? I am so confused of lift/tire of what to do. I see 4" and 31's, 32's, and no lift 31's, 3" w/ 31's now your saying 3/33's fits fine? Awesome news just trying to determine what to order...

It is a stage 1 Duff lift, so 3 inches of lift. I dont really get it either lol. The James Duff site says you need 3 inches for 31s too! I ran 31s with a 1.5 inch lift for awhile, and it wheeled just fine, no rubbing at all. With the 3" lift and 33s, I am going to do some very minor finder trimming (like literally an inch off the bottom portion of the rear tire). Keep in mind that I am running a 10.5" wide tire. If they were any wider, I don't think I could stuff the rear tire without trimming. Even so, I wouldn't need a 5 inch lift to do it! At least with my Bronco II, I can't see where the charts on lift vs tire size make any sense at all. I just mocked up the measurement of the tire size I wanted and guessed at lift size from there. Also, I have brand new body mounts and leaf springs, so I am not sagging like most 30+ year old B2s would. Wish I could be more helpful. Maybe others will chime in.

One trick is to measure the height from your hub to the top of your fender well. The use a jack to lift the frame until you are approximating your lift height. This can give you an idea of what a lift will look like. You may have to unhook some stuff if you start lifting tires.

I also think the 7 inch wheels with the stock backspace helps a bunch with getting the rear tires up in the wheel wells.

Good point!

Also, why it feels so tippy lmao

I'm sure it plays into it...

I really want to put my set of Alcoa wheels on my Bronco. I really feel I would have to run spacers and I just don't want to do that.

Yeah man well it is SICK! I want 32-33's but also am cutting the build budget now with drivetrain so the 3" Duff lift and running 31's on Dana 28/7.5 is sounding better and better. Thanks for the info I'll PM you later on more don't want to block up the thread. Your rig is sweet and inspirational. Enjoy it like you should!
