I need to find some LED reverse lights now. They look yellow compared to the LEDs.

Looks awesome buddy! Still haven't got mine installed yet. I agree some LED reverse lights seem to be in order. I may have to do that also.

A source for LED's as replacement for incandescent bulbs is superbrightleds.com

I never knew those lit up with the reverse lights too! I kind of wanna get one, but I hear they block the access to the crank-hole (sexual innuendo not intended) for the spare tire, which is kind of a turn-off for me.

I've been wanting to replace my bulbs with LEDs because of how dim they are. I didn't know where to get them. Think I'll try a pair. Thanks for that link.

you can get led reverse or any other bulb at autozone! i think $20 a piece.

looks good!

thats way too expensive. if you buy led replacements though, you need to get bulbs with as many led's as you can find. you will only be disappointed with the cheaper ones, they will be no brighter than what you have now. they will probably be worse than what you have now.

I am quite happy with the lightbar.
I found a shop here in my area (eastern Canada) that carries the LED replacement bulbs for factory bulbs. 25 LEDs per bulb, that should be fairly bright ($20 /pair)

CanadianRanger, let me know how you make out with the LED conversion. I would like the mfg and the part number so I can see if I can some here. I looked at superbrightleds.com but they didn't have a cross for an LED conversion.

Thanks

George

fair warning: you will probably be disappointed

i bought a set that was 28 led's (i think) that i put in place of one brake light. compared to the incandescent 1157 on the other side, the led's were dull

Thanks for the warning. I don't want less light.
My rear windows have 5% tint. I need MORE light...LOL

this is from superbrightleds.com
Brightness of LED Car Bulbs
LED bulbs are generally not as bright as standard incandescent bulbs, they have many advantages over filament bulbs (longer life, faster on/off times, lower power consumption, more vivid colors) but brightness is not one of them.
They are generally not as bright but some of them with large numbers of LEDs, will appear brighter than filament bulbs.
As an exception, our new 3 Watt and 5 Watt Luxeon LED car bulbs are as bright or brighter than most standard filament car bulbs.
The light is distributed differently so they can appear brighter in some applications and not as bright in others, it depends on the size and shape of the bulb housing and reflector.
Most LED bulbs emit light like a flashlight, all out the end. Regular filament bulbs emit light from the end and all sides, so they will be better suited for some lighting applications than LED bulbs.
This is the same reason why we do not rate LED car bulbs in lumens or watts, the numbers would be deceptively low because the light is measured from all sides and the end on standard filament bulbs but only from the end on LED bulbs

i looked at the luxeon bulbs before i even read this little note, and i would be confident buying them... the only issue is that they are about $23 each...

Update. Found some LED replacement bulbs for the 3157's at Canadian Tire
They are only rear-firing but are still BRIGHT...and not as yellow looking as the stock bulbs.
