Does anyone know the steering ratio of an 88 ranger gt? Also is there any way to make it a tighter ratio for sportier steering?

I don't know the ratio offhand.
You can put a longer pitman arm on for quicker steering.

The ratio in the gear box is about 4:1, which is most vehicles. I don't know what the final number is with the pitman arm, but it isn't much more.

Lock to lock I have maybe 4.25 turns of the steering wheel.

No. The one I found was on a 1987 STX Hi Rider. There are pics of the length difference in my race truck build somewhere. IIRC, it was about 15-20% longer.

The STX high rider is a 4wd. Dont need a drop pitman arm for a 2wd. 2wd pitman arms are flat.

My apologies, I didn't know the OP was a 2wd. I would look into straightening out a 4wd arm as long as it isn't cast, which I doubt they would be.
I've seen people make drop straight axles on the HAMB, so doing the reverse with an arm seems possible.

or use a 250 2wd arm. one of those is pretty long. my 79 arm is longer too.
