After 16 years I was looking for a cheap project last night and I thought I would check into why the indicator lights for the 4wd have never worked. I traced the one wire from the t-case up into the engine compartment... and it was cut. It is the stock 1350M t-case that was in the truck when I got it.

Any ideas where it is supposed to tie into the rest of the truck at?

And if someone could fix my stupid spelling in the title I would appreciate it...

Here is a wiring link that might help you out,,, see if this link works for you,,, if it does save it and pass it around,,, lots of good diagrams,,,,,,,,,,,,,,http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd

I found that on another thread you mentioned it, it is a great find but I don't see anything for the 4wd lights.

My Haynes has nothing, my 1990 RBV Chiltens has a ton of diagrams but says nothing about what the application is.

It doesn't really make sense, while it sounds totally awesome I have never heard of a "differential lockout switch" in regards to a Ranger and it doesn't say if it is for a 1983 with a lever, an 1989 with electric shift or something in between. And I only have one wire coming out of the t-case...

1985 EVTM is en route...

Ok, back from vacation and I got my book.

It shows the wire going to a single pin connector on the DS fender apron... which is what I have. From there one wire runs straight to the connector on the back of the instrument cluster.

So sometime I need to pull the cluster and run a wire... I think.

I tracked down EVTM's for both my '85 truck and my '88 dash harness/cluster.

'85 has one wire going to t-case switch and '88 has two wires going to the t-case switch.

So has anyone switched the switches on the t-case?
