first 4x4

i just got an 89 bronco ii. the electronic 4x4 shift button doesnt light up. what is the things to check first before taking it to shop. the Haynes manual is no help

If the button just doesn't light up pull it out and replace the bulbs... If your 4x4 shift motor doesn't work at all go look in the t-case section and read the sticky about fixing your e-t-case motor...
