Hello everyone!
My name is Jim. I live in Raleigh, NC. I've got a 2002 Mazda extended cab 2wd. Bought it about a year ago in my home state of MD for $500, ~135k miles, not running. After some time and about $1500 she's my daily. She's been a good truck so far, no issues. I've been reading tech articles on the site and forum posts trying to learn so I can get her to last a long time and get her how I want her to be.
Work done so far: dropped amd cleaned fuel tank, replaced fuel pump assembly, fuel filter, plugs, wires, all fluids, rebuilt rear drum brakes, rebuilt half the front end, swapped out the bed (bed supports had rusted out) and probably a few other things.
Work to do: (what I can think of as I type, but I know there's more not listed)
1. Convert to 4wd
2. Deep clean interior
3. Add heat insulation to cab
4. Paint interior trim / dash to be black and dark gray theme (currently light gray color scheme)
5. Convert rear windows to 90s style vent windows
Between you tube and this site, I've learned quite a lot and been able to accomplish the work I've done so far. I'm at the point I need to have two way conversation with people as opposed to just following others posts and I also am having trouble finding older posts aka I don't wanna be that guy to make a new thread for something that's been covered, if possible. I've found this to be the MOST exhaustive and extensive consolidated resource and am thankful I can glean from others with more knowledge and experience than me.
