A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
At first I thought there were parts missing from this dubious ChiCom kit, # 917-551, but nope, their own website says there's only ONE wavy washer, and only ONE "inner seal"... as with all lame-to-begin-with instructions badly translated from Mandarin, the install sheet (and xeroxed B&W photos) is worthless. I suppose the lone ring-seal goes in the TOP bushing?

At least the original Torx screws are replaced with Phillips... will THAT come back to bite?

It’s only 10 parts. Pay attention when you take it apart and put the new parts back the same way.

The only good Philip's head screw is a drywall screw.

Nay way, Jose'... original setup is different, *2* wavy washers, etc...

I just don't want to have ATF odors or up-splash/leaks from doing it "wrong"... what's scary is the ChiComs are deciding what's "right"... :shok:

OK, finally got down to it, AND... while the single wavy-washer brought the lower blue bushing up to just a "tad" higher than the pivot-pins (i.e. had to press it down while tapping pins into place), I figure that "pressure against the dam" is good for taking up the slack on future wear...

... AND, the top blue bushing (they're identical) stands "well proud" of the housing, by probably .040-.050", presumably also good for "fill-in" due to future wear...

... BUT, the net result is NON-critical "binding" of the shifter, i.e. stiff side-to-side in neutral, have to help it to dead-center... otherwise good in all gears, does NOT pop-out of 5th or REV or anything like that...

>>> was I supposed to lube the stub-ball with ATF before torquing down the 3 screws?... ATF is definitely splashing up in that stub region. :icon_confused:
