finally got some pics... what do ya think?

btw i do like your truck. you did a great job at it. but why did you have to say this

thanks. but u know some redneck is gonna bash on it saying it wont hold up just because its not a dana 60 or some other type of overkill. to me, a good offroader can make it through a trail without making any body damage or break any parts. thats the true test and thats the way i was brought up as an offroader.

so if you can make a dana 30 hold up, ur the man.

plus your not going a hard enough trails if your not breaking things but thats just my 2 cents

cuz ive already cought some heat for even thinking of using this axle.

i found some older pics of my truck so i thought id post them.

damn... i need to build another roof rack.

heres another. i had 35s tucked with no actual lift... just cranked t bars and glass. oh and the ugly snorkel.

Nice! If I did a SAS, that's what axle I would use. But I probably won't...

thanks guys. my truck looked like total crap in the last pic. kinda funny to see it through all these transformations

the d30/d44/d60 swap is the only way to make a 98+ truck truly good off road. This is most likely the BEST choice of axles to swap in. It mite be expensive but at least you only have to buy/swap one axle. This is hands down the BEST d44 swap I have ever seen for a list of reasons. The folks who test there limits and dont mind busted body panels and breaking parts are a special breed. Those of us who run our rigs hard enough to bust glass, break parts and crush body panels are for the most part thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies. I respect you for respecting your truck, others of us would rather run more difficult trails and risk/ensure we will have break downs.

dont get me wrong, i give my truck hell. i just hate looking at dents and scratches if i know its preventable.

btw, thanks on the compliments. my buddy gave me hell when i told him i was using a 44 for the swap. he tried and tried to convince me that a 60 was what i needed. then another buddy of mine told me how he had to go back to the 44 on his TJ due to the fact that he kept ripping his frame apart with the heavy ass 60s.

I agree, a D44 can be built for a ranger that will take all the abuse you can dish out and a 9" or an 8.8 can too; both good axles.
c_note, how the ride and do you think the setup could be made with a little less lift ?

looks way good man...SAW ftw!

so how do u like ur SAWs? i have 2.0 10" and im gonna get new 12" bodies and shafts to convert it to 12" travel from bryan. if im not mistaken, you got ur beard seats from him down in san diego.

it is possible to get a lower profile with a dana 44 from a 79 ford. it doesnt have the upper control arm mount above the pumpin so that would give you atleast 2 more inches of clearance so you can drop it that much lower. or you can keep the 5 on 4.5 by using the same axle as i and just cut off the upper mounts and use the same radius arm setup as the ford axle instead of the 4 link like the jeeps. i hope this made some sense

convert it to 4wd and throw some 37s on it. thats what i want next. looks like i might be regearing for a 3rd time.
