Superlift Questions?????????

We just received the 5.5" Superlift for my sons '96.
On another forum there was a suggestion of using the 4" holes instead of the 5.5" for easy in alignment. Any opinion on that?
Are those 31's on there, thats the size my sons got except Kumho KL71.
You also have me concern as I did not order extended brakes as I was told it may not be an issue and we could deal with it down the road. The lift is being put on by a automotive teacher at the college this week for him and now I worried about having it taking up room in their garage while waiting for new lines. Do you think we can get it back together and home until I can get new lines order in?

Thanks.

Well is it a super cab? 4.0 engine? I didnt have an option on my brackets, and i used every bit of the 5.5" holes to align it. The superlift springs are stiff, in my opinion, and in the 4" hole would really make it a pain to align, especially with a reg cab and anything smaller than a 4.0l engine. It would just push the truck to high. So i would say probably the 5.5" hole, and if the springs dont lift it high enough, to where some people would add spacers, then yeah use the 4" hole, but really i dont think you will need too. My drivers side i could align perfectly. The pass side was another issue but because of my truck, no t the kit.
Yes those are 31's on the truck now. With those mud tires it should look pretty good.
Those stock lines wouldnt even allow me to put the calipers on the mount, but i ordered the lines with part numbers at the bottom of http://therangerstation.com/tech_library/ReplacementBrakeLine_Front.html that page, and they worked out perfectly, but i did cut off the brace in the middle of the line. I work at Oreillys and we had them in stock, and if the parts store didnt they could probably get it for you same day if you ask early in the day. Good luck with it and if you have any questions you can pm me.

THANKS for that I will use the 5.5 hole and go get those brake lines today. No worrries with the rear line? Thanks.

well with three inch blocks it still reached, but yes i do need to replace it.

my '97 Ranger had the superlift kit on it. I used the 4" bracket holes and it aligned easier than it did in the 6" holes.

A good rule of thumb is to make sure your axle pivot points are as close to center of the hub/wheel as possible.

Agreed^. thats basically the rule of thumb i went by, so check that centerline when its on and decide from there.
