Finally built a box

not the loudest and yes i know xplod sucks blah blah blah we've all heard it but hey im a poor college student so i need something now i just gotta figure out a way to keep the jack and all that because i need it for my road trips

looks pretty nice, i don't know much, but it does seem like you should have used more screws (but maybe i've just seen bad examples? idk really)


you gonna carpet or paint your coffee table? i mean sub box

yea id add some more just split the diff of the ones you got now and you should be good. looks good id get a hd bag like the ones drills come in to put your jack stuff in. and you can prolly throw way the instructions for your jack. i dont think you need them any more.

dude paint like 5 coats of thick primer then high gloss black, then old school flames, and a few coats of clear. and i wont tell you that xplodes suck.

You've got enough volume in that box to add another sub to each side.

If you cut down the volume of the box it would probably sound better.

Do it the cheap way. Box volume- Sub's rec. volume= Cotton volume

actually screw arent really needed unless you have a high output system. theyre mainly used to hold the wood together until the glue dries. my box is only held together with glue and i dont have any problems.

could you list the dimensions of your box and the volume of it. it looks great and i think im gonna do the same thing rather than killing one of the seats

i plan on carpeting it when i get the money trying to save for a new HU right now so who knows when that'll be but i'll list the deminsions later when i have time to get out there right now its snowing like crazy but i will get them 2 you

he could have optimum everything and it wouldnt matter, sony xplodes suck. At this point he might as well find a sub that has close to that volume demand. Though if it's quality he's going to want to brace the box a lil more. The box is nice but I'd at least throw a coat of primer on it until you figure out what you're going to do. mdf likes to swell....

well xplode aside you're still going to want to prime it unless you are carpeting soon.

he doesnt have to prime it. unless theres moisture getting inside the cab there shouldnt be a problem

i would only worry about the edges chiping or flaring out. or people back there with wet shoes and what not,

and explodes suck lol sorry i had to i know all abuout money being tight
