Ever since a hurricane where I put gas in my 2000 Ranger v6 from a can using a funnel I can no longer easily put gas in as the pump handle constantly clicks off. Any ideas?

It's likely clicking off because fuel is backing up in the tube due to the tank not venting properly. What exactly about filling it up with a funnel may have caused that, I cannot say.

Now that you mention it, I remember a person a few months back having a similar issue and it turned out that it was a problem with the vent. I don't remember if they replace the vent hose or the filler neck to fix the issue. I'm thinking the funnel was just a coincidence, unless it was a filthy funnel

Meant to write "NOT venting properly" in my last post, fixed now for future readers.

That's what I was thinking too, either the funnel or the gas can used was really dirty causing the vent to somehow get clogged. Seems like that would take a lot of trash being introduced though.

I’ve also had issues with the gas pump filling too fast, causing turbulence in the tube, that shuts off the nozzle.

Could be something with the pumps at the station you use, could try a different station.

I've had a similar but different issue in the past after changing the Fuel Filler Hose.
While fueling, generally the Nozzle clicks off letting you know it's "filled." Most vehicles allow you to continue to fill to get as much in there as you can or fill until the price sold is even - whatever your pleasure.

Upon the first fill up with the new filler hose, I filled the tank and continued after the pump clicked off the first time. Upon trying to start the truck afterward, it was a Bit$h to start and ran rough once started - had to keep the RPMs up to keep from stalling. A pain with an AT. About a half mile from the gas station I came to a red light and the engine stalled and was again a Bit$h to get it started - you know honking horns cars going around you etc. After driving a bit all was fine.

But, I never continue fueling after the first click and it has not happened again.
