Filler neck issue?

Ok so I have a 01 ranger xlt 4.0 sohc 127" wheelbase and 16g tank, when I try to put gas in it recently it acts like the tank is full and kicks the nozzle off even if I'm holding the trigger. I guess the breather tube might be clogged but I'm not real sure of what my first move should be. Any help appreciated.

The rubber part of the filler neck has an outer and inner tube.I had a shop replace the fuel pump and after that had a hard time putting in fuel. Turned out that the shop had " pulled " the filler neck off the upper end of the assembly thus breaking off the inner tube. Had to replace the entire assembly. No more filling problems. Found new part on eBay for $50. Ford wants a few hundred for it! Hope this helps.

That was one of the biggest PITA when we changed my fuel pump.

Ebay will be cheaper but waiting is sometimes hard to do.

Well every 'quick fix' I've found online or been told hasn't done shit. My discount through ford is still 200 bucks. No other parts stores have it or can even get it, my buddy works for Dobbs, he's gonna see if they can get one in for me tomorrow
