Anyone seen the new fiesta commercial, with the red fiesta and it talking about its amazing fuel economy, I assume there is an American version of it, but the one I just saw boasted how it got 9xx km per tank, and that its not the Honda this or the Toyota that, or the Mazda 2...

Why is ford ripping on Mazda?

I find that very strange. I'm pretty sure Ford used to have very close ties with Mazda. The ranger came from the courier. Didn't Mazda help design the first explorer?

It's a canadian ad that's been running here for a few months. I thought it was kinda funny, isn't a mazda 2 just a rebadged fiesta?

Ford has virtually cut ties with Mazda roughly 6 years ago. Ford has sold all but 10% of their stake in Mazda. They wanted to go it alone and it has affected Mazda big time. Mazda is looking at cutting their North American work force by 2500 workers and closing dealerships. Possibly even pulling manufacturing out of North America all together.

Haven't seen the commercials but since it's made in Mexico....it can swim rivers, climb fences, and rush to the hospital for the delivery of anchor babies.
