just as the title says...When i posted my other thread about my gas gauge...I thought something was wrong....anyways..I finally got to 300 miles on a tank..(70 highway, 30 city) .I usually fill up around 250-260 w/gas light on....Well yesterday it never came on at all i was just scared id be walking, so i filled her up...I shook the truck very hard for a little more juice....I put 15 gallons in and my trip read 307....so i got around 20-21 mpg....I try new driving techniques everyweek, i think i can do better too..........!!!

oh yeah...3.73s , 255/70/16 tires....overinflated tires 3 psi....I have been meauring every since i got this truck....the past two times i have gotten more MPG..it was 18, then 19, now 20-21

tips?

did you install a vacuum gauge? because i did and it shows my truck is very thirsty. i get shit for fuel economy on the highway. i average 14-15 mpg. any tips? i have a 1994 mazda b4000 4.0 ohv with 120k miles on it. i get gear noise from the rear end and my syncros in my tranny are starting to go. could this be adding to my poor fuel economy?

yeah that could be a reason. plus your truck is a older, so it has other worn parts.

I made a 1600 mile round trip in my 02 last summer ran 75 to 85 miles an hour and averaged 20 i did get 21 on 1 tank with 4:10 gears,and LT245-75r 16's 4x4 super cab.

TO YOU B KEL::

Well that nosie from your rear end is probably causing friction and holding your tires back from spinning as free...I dunno i just accelerate real slow and try not to brake hard...I also try to keep my gas pedal consistant not punching it then letting off...Getb a good tune up, i actually need one i think, so maybe ill get better..Though i just upgraded tires size and got steel wheels....ill let you know what the mileage is after this week
