I had to trim the splash shield on the front and rear, it took me about 2 hours while takeing my time. i still have to clean them up a bit and i need to get some rubber to put over the edges.

It is about to be a non-issue as I'm going to full width axles. "Rubbing" will be a lot less likely now.
cool
I have to disagree about the edge left by the nibbler though. You are much more likely to get bitten by your folded over edge than anything left by the nibbler.:icon_thumby:
maybe if you folded the nibbled edge it woulden't get you.there are too many times when i have to grab the wheel opening and pull up or rock it to get unstuck.a sheet metal edge sticking staight down is much more likely to bend or cut you,no matter how you cut it.i use a sanding disc on the raw edges anyway when i'm done.

cut

I cut the factory flairs out of my 88 Ranger with a jig saw, real easy, and installed rubber flairs from JC Whitney.

Took longer to install the flairs than it did to make the cut the fenders.:icon_cheers:

I've always used an angle grinder. It doesn't shake the heck out of the body panels, and it leaves a fairly clean cut. Fold it under or use some rubber hose or stick-on body trim to keep from cutting your hands.

yea i was thinkin about the rupper hose..thanks

So im gonna be doing this real soon,
what i will do is:
#1- Ill remove the front fenders
#2- Ill mark with a marker where i will cut, leaving probably 1/2 inch to fold
#3- Get to cutting with my new 7 1/2" Angle grinder
#4- Take some metal cutters and cut some relief points for the folding
#5- Fold up a lip around 1/2 inch
and call it a day,
or,
dont fold no lip and just put some of the rubber hose trim on there like Johnny suggested

now what am i missing?
