new to forum, new truck to me. 2006 ranger that had stock flares. past owner removed. i thought it would be easy to replace with stock from junkyard or aftermarket, not so. i looked and looked and finally found a set from a yard off a 2000 ranger and went to install, the holes are too high on my truck. i checked the bushwacker aftermarket and it says they only cover between 4.75 and 5.25 my flares went up 5.5" on the fenders (from lip of wheel well to where edge of flare sat on bed or fender)and left a line on the truck paint so new ones have to be the same or higher. anyone know of a set that is that large, or have access to flares off a 2006 or compatible they would sell? my only other thought is welding/bondo holes and repaint, but that is a PIA and $$$.

I'm not 100% but I think bushwhacker is referring to distance over the tire. How far it sticks out to cover, usually wider tires than stock.

Cut outs go up higher than stock to allow for cutting the fender opening. But each models may be different too. Calling and talking to a tech adviser may help

your other option would be to drill holes so that the new jy flares fit... and that would also be a PITA...

Might be better off just waiting it out and finding a true 2006 set of flares or biting the bullet and calling Ford...
