I about due for some new tires. I currently have 33X12.50X15 Pro comp Muds that I have gone about 60,000 miles, but they are loud as shit. I do a lot of snowy canyon driving in utah in the winter and this is my year round daily driver. I occasionally do some mild off-roading in the summer Anyone have any recomendations for or against any particular tire. Your input is much appreciated. thanks.

I am happy with my Widetrack Baja AT's I have my F-150. They have about 30k on them with about half the tread. They go thru snow well and deal with mud great for an AT (my Dunlops on my Ranger would waste them though)

I got them for $78 a tire during a buy 3 get one free sale that Orchelen's (a local farm store) was running. I have had them for almost exactly 3 years.

i had bfg a/t's, nice tires, but lousy off road and in snow.... currently i have 33" dunlop rover rvxt's, i love them!!! the tread is kinda in between an all-terrain and a mud tire. awesome for mild offroad, and very quiet on road, almost no noise. no snow use yet, but i know my friend has them too, and says best tire hes had for snow. good mileage wear too.

ive worked for 3 different cooper tire dealers and absolutely love coopers. ive got atr's on the ranger now and they perform admirably in all situations.

ive seen coopers take some very harsh abuse and not fail, they always balanced out nicely, and they seem to wear well.

Same here. The ATR is an awesome tire. I highly recommed the Cooper ATR. I almost bought a set.
But I'm not an A/T guy, so I went with the STTs.

The STT is one of the best tires I've ever seen. Mine have out performed BFG M/T KMs in mud, out performed Bridgestone Blizzaks in snow and ice, and take a beating better than some E-range tires. On top of that I've got about 18-20K on them and they are about 3/4 tread. I do a min of 60mi on the highway daily, they aren't that loud for a M/T, and they ride great, even on and empty truck w/ 35psi. They also have one of the meanest looking sidewalls.

If I ever buy new tires for my Ranger that will probably be what I get, I like my Dunlops but they are kinda loud... and the STT's look a lot better.

i like tires that hold air :icon_rofl: . seriously though i don't look at the manufacturer, i look at three things: first what kind of tread does it have, i like aggressive. well o.k then, there are a gazzilion brands out there that look mean :no2: so what. second i look at how much it can handle weight wise. third i look at price, i'm a cheap bastard, i aint gonna spend a thousand dollars on a set of tire that look cool and are quiet on the highway[that's everyones bitch, my tires are too loud] no shit, that is what you get for a decent offroad tire, a little highway hum, if you don't like it, take 'em back get something quieter and get stuck like the rest of the pansies, or do like i do and turn your stereo up :icon_hornsup: . for me as long as it #1:holds air and i don't wake up to flat tire #2get's me where ever i want to go, without getting stuck #3: doesn't hurt my wallet, that 's all i care about. brand names mean diddly squat to me and i could give two squirts of piss less, that's what i buy.sorry i can't tell ya what brand name to buy, but i don't endorse anyone.

I had the same tires as 85_Ranger4x4, Dunlops, I liked them for the most part, did great in Mud and Sand. They need siping tho, my BII was a hazard in the snow this last winter.

Where in Utah are you located? Not many of us on here from Utah

anyone tried theTrXus STS?

I would think the TruXus MT would be a better choice than the STS. I've heard good things about them in the snow as they have some really nice siping on them.

Yeah, they are dicy on anything aside from freash poofy stuff. Actually in my last picture I had to put it in 4x4 to get out as the back wheels found some ice under the snow and it wouldn't budge.
