Favorite Car

another vote for the Pantera... something about a Cleveland, a 5 speed and an italian sports car.

Looks amazing, and definitely one of the cheapest motors to build you will find in a mid-engine sports car. Annnnd, what a satisfying sound they make

OK...

'65-'68 Mustang coupe (I like the square roof better on these)
'70-'71 Ranchero GT
'83 Harley XR1000
'67-'79 F-100
Datsun 240-280Z
AMC AMX

Interesting comment on the Pontiac Bonneville. I had a '76 Cordoba I drove a few years and tormented. After the poor car stood up to all the abuse, I yanked the engine out to stick in a junk Road Runner. Regretted it since. I suppose I wouldn't mind having another.

1969 MACH I:headbang:

1993 SVT Mustang Cobra:headbang:

Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 :headbang::headbang::headbang: 8.0L quad-turboed W-16 producing 1001 HP................is the FASTEST production car:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Lancia Delta S4, although it's a group B race car, it was a production car also with the option to upgrade with a supercharger and turbocharger, turning it into a "streetable racecar" making a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds, in gravel, that's fast. Some reports say it was 2.3 seconds, in gravel.... beating the Bugattis 2.5 0-60 time ;) Now I'm not comparing this to the Amazingly engineered Veyron, but that was in 1984 :icon_hornsup:

waaaay to many to list but here is a couple-

79 bronco w/ 7.3 turbodiesel, '77 split grill on 37'' swampers,d60 rear,coil sprung 3/4 ton front end

79 f-250 with dual 60's and a 5.9 turbodiesel on 31's(towbitch)

I know a guy that has been looking for a 428 mach for years, he has billions of dollars so money isn't a prob. Will he sell it? keep it from rotting....

I could have bought an 82' J20 with 120,000 km's on it with a white leather interior for 2grand last year. Still kicking myself for letting it pass, would have made on helluva tow rig with a 12 valve cummins swapped in it,and it was in show room condition too.....

Mine is my '74 Bonneville 4dr, like this but shit brown. Had it at age 16-17 and that car really took care of me and probably is the reason I'm still alive. I went off the road a lot, drunk, stoned. Never slowed down in the winter. I don't know how many times I watched that thing being winched out of ditches like Luke Skywalkers X-wing in Dagoba swamp. I don't know how many times it was impounded either. It rode well, was heavy and stuck to the road well, carried a lot of teenagers out past curfew. Bounced a lot of deer off that car too on those back roads through endless Iowa cornfields. Pretty decent 400-4v motor, didn't mind being run for 30 miles at 120mph with the pedal in the carpet. Pretty much the perfect car for a teenager without parental supervision. I don't want another one, but I really respected what a good car that was.

A buddy of mine had a '78 Olds Delta 88 with the same life story. On weekends we pretty much lived in that damn car. Thing went through mud/snow like it was 4x4. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but it brings a smile to my face whenever I do.

ANYTHING?

No purpose, no cost, and so on?

1930s Duesenberg. Sure looks better than all those 60s-70s boats, and has double the power (400 HP, supercharged inline-8), with a top speed of over 150 MPH.... Of course I don't have a few million smackers to blow on such a thing.

I also like restored Model Ts, but they aren't particularly practical (slow, manual spark advance, no transmissions, but two speed differentials, etc.).

Model T's had a 2-speed planetary type tranny and a driveshaft. There was an optional 2-speed rear axle for the truck versions.

Here's the engine and tranny.

If you haven't read Erskine Caldwell's Tobacco Road you just don't know fine literature. The Model T reminded me of it. It's a quick read, but pretty damn sad and funny all balled into one. You won't want to do any genealogy work when you are done with it.

I'd also have to add the Pantera to my list, and in all reality it'd be an easier to meet goal than the Mustang I listed.
