Faster rpm heater blower motor

Hi,

I've done some searching, but haven't been able to find any
specific answer. Is there a blower motor that will still
mount up to the original box that produces more rpms=more
flow. All speeds work, but on high it's still not pushing
alot of air. This is on my '85, on my '84 its still about
the same, so I don't feel there is necessarily anything
wrong with the motors per se. Anyone have any options/
opinions. Running on borrowed time here in Iowa
weather-wise !

The second generation trucks have a four speed controler in the dash. Now without two next to each other to compare I cant say that one pushes more air than the other. It prolly just divides the same amount of air into four selections instead of the the first gen's three.
I can say that the the blower fan motor is a direct swap. So that could be an option but you might need a different relay or something to give it more signal and turn more rpm. I dont know how that stuff works, I'm not very good at the electronics.

Well,
I just replaced my 87's blower motor. I grabbed it out of a 1st gen Explorer, didn't have any doors to check the exact year but it defintiely blows way more air than the original BII one. Not sure if it was the factory one but here is the part # on it, Siemens F37H-19805-AA with an 11-12-92 build date.

I changed the blower in my Ranger for the same reason and it made no difference my used one vs the new one.

I ripped the plenum apart and pulled out all the leaves and mouse nest... night and day difference. Pretty easy to do too.

One downside to a 1st gen is the slats for air intake infront of the windshield, they swallow leaves VERY easily.

Yeah, check for leaves and crap first. Ford's are known for good air flow from the fans. If there is poor air flow most times there is either a blockage or a worn out motor. With the ages of the motors/trucks you are talking about, both are a distinct possibility.

I have had the box off, no debris at all. Certainly
