Farm and Garden

Just about done planting the garden... a bit late this year, but the weather has not been cooperating. It was really dry, then cold, then a solid week of rain... I put some tomatoes, eggplant, beans, and a few herbs in a couple weeks ago and they haven't really taken off. Last night we got the drip watering hoses in and the potatoes and beets planted.

Fingers crossed I guess, even the grass in the yard and the trees look like crap still.

Thistle is the bane of any open space. Around my house they grow in large patches in different areas. My wife used to go out and cut there heads of before they bloomed. Now, I just go out and bush hog 'em whenever I see a patch. They're a PIA.

I got our little garden turned over today. Soil looks pretty good. Weed block weave is coming Wednesday so maybe Thursday - weather permitting - I'll get some tomatoes and beans in the ground.

The girlfriend planted some tomatoes and stuff in ours. I've been so busy doing vehicle mainteance, upgrades, and other projects that planting stuff in the garden hasn't even been on my radar. Being that it is the first year, it will be interesting to see how well things grow.

garden beds are going, plants doing well & seedlings starting to pop up. Yes that is a electric fence. Havent seen raccoons yet but im sure they are lurking about

added a extra fan for the chickens. Thought about putting in a older window a/c unit I have but then the building would have to stay closed up, and if I have equipment or electrical failure I will have baked chickens.

I learned to drive on a 3000 (I think) that looked just like that. I was 3yr old. Couldn't use the seat. Just stood to one side and held the wheel.

Had a baby come about a month ago, didn't have time to cultivate like I wanted so I had the local coop spray my soybeans.

What a fine job they did...

So I put the bean meters back in the planter so I can try to replant. It really sucks because that is the best dirt on the place.

Start feeding them 11 herbs and spices.
