Every morning or after the truck has been sitting a while it ends up in 4Low it's its a pain to get it to go back to 2wd. I'm starting to think its the return spring inside the Tcase but that's just a hunch. I replaced the 4wd motor but that changed nothing. I can hear the relays clicking away trying to do its thing.

Truck is an 02 ranger with 4.0 V6 and automatic trans.

Is this a common issue?
Is the spring available somewhere other than a yard?
Any other thoughts??

Today when I got to work I put it in 4Low hoping that everything will be in its natural mechanical alignment and it will come right out of low but only time will tell.

Sounds like an electrical short in the wiring.

I'll unplug the motor tonight and see if it still does it.

I can hear the relays trying to shift out of low but it just doesn't do it. I'll also remove the motor and have my girl cycle threw the ranges to see if it's doing what it's saposed too.
