Hi
I have a factory stock 2005 Ranger FX4 Automatic with 95,000 miles.
Today I started the truck, the factory radio was on and tuned to a station and it played the station, I put the truck in Reverse and the speakers quit. I shifted to Drive and when the shifter passed Neutral the radio came back on but only when it was in neutral for that split second and the radio quit again after I put the truck in Drive, It will play in Park and Neutral except when I turn the key to Accessories it don't play, but will when turned over to On. I still see the radio station number and the clock is working as well as the cd slots and all. I hope I made this clear enough to understand. This is all factory stock and has never been tinkered with. Please any help would be appreciated. :icon_confused:

change to a manual tranny?! :icon_rofl:

sorry, couldn't help it.:D

i'd check to see if your speaker wires run through the tunnel where your shifter is. maybe they've moved some over time and spots have worn through the wire jackets allowing them to short out. don't know what else it could be other than the shifter linkage shorting the wires. good luck there.
