Looking for info on Ford factory Ranger bedliner install. Found an '86 longbed in the wrecking yard and bought it for twenty bucks. Unscrewed the retainers (4 a side) and slid it out. Can't figure how it was put in originally. The liner mounts over the bed rails and the retainers mount under the truck bedrails. Does anyone know how to keep them in place?

Man, I had one that I cut up in pieces and put it out for trash. That was the nosiest thing I ever had in my truck. I hope you don't get that squeaking and rustling sounds I had. I had a factory Ford liner and I just hated it. I have heard other truck owners say the same thing. Rhino line that bed and enjoy the sounds of silence!!!! lol

Its actually going into a trailer I made from a Ranger long bed truck. I plan on using Herculiner all over my '83 and the trailer as well. The Ford bedliner on the trailer would save me some $$ on the application of the Hurculiner on the trailer bed. Enough so, that the Ford liner was worth the $20 I paid for it. My '83 (made up of 3 mix-matched color parts) and the trailer (another different color) combo will both soon be sporting a total Herculiner look (less the bed of the trailer). Any info on the installation?

if it is a over the rail bedliner i'd take a dremel tool and open the bed stake pocket holes up and use some bed tie downs in the corners to hold the liner in so you have a place to secure atv's or whatever your hauling in the trailer..

I don't think many people like bed liners...like changing tecnology...they soon
become a thing of the past...lol

Thanks Grey_04, That is definitely an option. This thing came with these wedge shaped plastic pieces. I think you start to thread them, install the liner, then they spin and grab under the bedrail as you tighten them down. weird.
