Fabricating anything right now?

That must throw out some pretty large, hot, chunks of metal? Must be noisy also?

yah,it's pretty noisy.

the pieces it throws off are about 1/8'' square by .040-.060 thick, and pretty hot.

but,it's a quick and effective way to cut heavier material...i've used this saw(and my table saw)to cut up to 1'' thick material.
.100 and thinner i can use my shear, but it's a lighter duty treadle unit(rated at 18ga steel)so anything heavier is pushing it too hard.

the pieces are coming together.

the part in front of the pod is a 1/2'' aluminum plate to reinforce where the engine(s) bolt on,it gets welded on under the outside panel, which is to the right.

with the panel on,it's getting closer to completion.i still have to finish the top edge in the center valley area, then add a pair of access panels to the top outer panels so the bolts that hold the engines can be reached.
might be able to bolt it onto the boat tomorrow or monday.

Great design and fabbing. I use blades that are ment for cutting alum now but the old sweet trick is reversing the blade, sure you know that one.

Thanks man. I got tired of the stock bumper, and liked the newer style one. But didn't want to have to change hood, headlights, and fenders to make it work.

good thread...i like the way you showed that supercharger who's boss.

but there's not a word on the custom bumper cover.i'm always looking for new ideas to steal:D

I think the picture tells it all. The newer style Focus bumpers don't mount up without swapping the fenders, headlights, hood, and grill. So I cut it in half and cut the older style one in half and plastic welded them together. Then filled in the cut and body lines with urethane filler.
