Have a couple of questions,I want to change my Ranger SAS to fullsize diffs,it has a 79 narrowed hp diff in it now.I also have a empty 75 F250 axle housing fullwidth.just wondering if all the parts from the knuckles out on the 79 axle would fit on the 75 axle, so i can save some money.also can i use the nuckles for the 79 this would also help with rim bolt pattern.any help would be great.

the 75 250 axle should be a closed knuckle design,with a big ball on the end like a toyota axle.your f150 axle should be a balljoint open knuckle.there could be exceptions to the 250 axle,but that's what i've had with any 75 250 i've had.so i would say no,it won't work.

If you were to use an f250 axle assembly you would need to switch to 8 lug wheels. I would just find another f/w f150 d44.

You would have to buy new shafts to use the f250 axle housing (seeing as your axle is narrowed and the f250 housing I believe is a couple inches wider than the f150 housing anyway), which already would end up cheaper just to buy a new axle all together.

And I think gwaii is correct...

the f250 axle is a open nuckle, i was told it came from a 75 f250 but the axle tube size is the same as the 79 i have .just wanted to know if i could take the nuckle, spindle, axle shafts etc.. off the 79 housing and install it on the f250 housing.to save money and keep the 5 bolt pattern.
