F150 hurting my brain

I got a 2003 F150 4x4 with a the no balls no fun V6 with a 5 speed and my front input shaft bearing is shot I dont wanna pay the tranny shop a 1000 bucks to fix it but I am blessed to be able to maybe barter transmissions from friends my question is do any of the other transmissions in the past 20 years have the same bell housing pattern?

you should be able to replace it. there was a guy on here that said the input shaft bearing was toast and the other name for it is the pilot bearing and you can replace it relatively easy. Maybe i'm retarded (please don't answer).

i think it has the same bell houseing as a small block 302....

The shifter is in a different place than the 302 tranny though. 97-03 F-150 trans will fit without a question, maybe newer.

Input shaft bearing and pilot bearing are two very different things.

Input shaft bearing sits in the front of the case the the input shaft rides in it, its quite large, about 4 inches ID, 6 inches OD.

The pilot bearing sits in the flywheel or the end of the crank (depending on the engine) and the skinny part of the front of the input shaft rides in it. It has about 1.5 inch OD.
