ive been through the tech. page and cant decide what i would rather do. Anyone have an input? i dont have the money to drop on a whole suspension lift for $500. I dont mean to be cheap and all but im just not rich. Im trying to get about 3in of lift or so and i was planing on putting the chevy shackles in the rear to level it out. how much could i expect to spend on used springs and shocks? i would rather go this way as it seems to be the safest way. and if i do the coil swap how much lift could i expect with my 87 ext. cab? someone please give an input as to what i should do??

You're not going to be able to go up 3 inches without a full lift kit. That much lift without drop brackets will make it impossible to align.

i said i wanted three inches, i dont know how much lift the coils are going to give and thats what im trying to figure out. if it did lift it that much would i need all the brackets or just the pitman arm?

You need drop brackets for anything over about 2.5-3" of lift.

This.

Unless you do a body lift. Either save for a kit or do a 2" body lift and washer lift. Done.
