tried searhing for info on kingpin beams from F series trucks, late 70's i think, to see about strength. If I do a F series beam swap to a early to mid 90's Ranger, is a kingpin better than a ball joint beam

ive worked on both and they are both pretty strong set ups. however when it comes to replacing the ball joints or king pins; ball joints are definitly easier. A swap seems like it would be rather hard to do, so i would just stick with the ball joints unless ur up to the challenge.

well a guy i met did the swap and he made it sound fairly easy on his. The beams should bolt up to the original beam pivot brackets. New radius arms need to be fabbed but they are fairly simple. The challenge I see is making new coil spring buckets. This may be a bit out of touch with reality but that's why I'm here... find out if an idea is stupid or just more work than it needs to be.

Unless I can find a turn key truck than I won't likely get one in this year because I have no good place to do my work. :icon_welder:

I am trying to find a 93-97 with a race front end but they do seem so exist for sale in AZ. There are a hand full of pre-93 that are nice and affordable. I just like the look of the new body and the doors are a lot better.
