Ever since I got my ranger pickup, a friend of mine who has an old F-250 ranger constantly gives me crap about having a trucklette as he calls it. And, that it might be worth having when it grows up. We go up into the hills and he leaves me in the dust with his souped up 351C. I love my little Ranger and take it all in stride.
Well last weekend he called me because he went off the road into a barr ditch and got high centered. When I got out to where he was he wanted me to take him in to get his wife's truck to pull him out. I told him that he wasn't stuck that bad and I could pull him out with no problem. After some arguing back and forth we hooked up a tow strap. I put my Ranger into four low and locked in the hubs then after pulling my backend sideways about a foot, I revved her up a little and pulled him about four feet until his wheels could grab traction and he could get out by himself. Of course I had to give him endless sh%t about it all afternoon. Later that evening his wife joined in to make matters even worse, it was awesome!
Some time on Sunday morning he snuck out to my place to mess with my truck. When I saw it I knew exactly who did it, so I gave him a call. He said he was so impressed with my little Ranger that he thought it was worthy of being included in the F-Series line of trucks. I told him that it didn't need to be classified as and F-Series as it was in a class all by itself, but that I would leave his little joke on my truck so every time he saw it he would be reminded of the time that my little Ranger pulled his big badass F-250 out of the ditch.
We stopped in at the truck stop later that day and someone commented on the emblems. So I told them the story. Everyone had a good laugh at his expense. Again, it was AWESOME!
I expect to have years of fun with these two little emblems he put on my truck. He thought he was going to have the last laugh, but my little Ranger is going to win out in the end.
