Hello, i have a '96 Mazda B4000, it has the 4.0 with auto trans. I unbolted the exhaust from the cat-back. I then made myself a short tube with a 80ish degree tip bend pointed downward. It sounds good for what it is but i have no intention on leaving it that way. I had very little tube to use so it is still under the cab. I will be getting a muffler shop to cut/bend me a piece so that i can have a more proper exhaust. I am debating whether to stay with the stock size tube, or go larger to say a 3 inch. It will run to the front of the wheelwell where it will then have a 45 degree tip bend. or it will exit to the side in front of the tire. Either way i dont know whether to put a tip on it or what kind. I would like to hear form you guys and see what you have to say.

I would say that 3" is much to large. I would stick with 2.5". I have 2.5" from the cat back to a thrsh welded dal chamber muffler and it exits in front of the rear tire.

Haha, yeah i know. I'm not one to usually do this, but i just got the truck and will be using it as a run-around vehicle. I dont wanna put any money into this truck, and i am moving to a new area soon where i will have to put the stock muffler on to pass safety. I like to work on stuff so i have been tinkering on this truck. The only reason i was thinking 3 inch was because there'll only be a few feet of it and i thought it might give it a little deeper tone vs the 2.5". I could probably get both and just experiment, thats waht i've been doing so far.
