My truck regularly ends up in water above the doors, so I recently bought longer tubing to extend the breather lines on the differentials. Is this really necessary? Looking at the U-shape of the existing breather lines, it seems that the wouldn't allow any water to enter, even if they were completely submerged.
Assuming it is a good idea to extend them, what's the best place to go with the line for the rear diff? Trying to get it into one of the rear tail-lights is my best idea at the moment.
Aside from these breather lines, are there any other breather lines on the transmission, transfer case, or anything else I should be concerned about getting underneath the water? There's various sensors on the bottom of the transmission, etc, that go under, but I don't know if there's a good way to prevent this.
