is it possible? i think all i would have to do is relocate the rear body mounts, maybe the side ones and a drive shaft mod? right? would it look stupid?:icon_welder:

it would make for a shorter bed... that would be kinda cool. driveshafts shouldnt be an issue at all (the frame isnt changing, the wheelbase isnt changing) but i actually think it would look good. ive seen an extended cab on a b2 frame with a bed that was only about 3" and it was cool...

what bed ?

is it a long bed or short ? definately no drive shaft problems, if its a long bed, a short bed would fit right on afterwards. sounds cool. post some pics if you do it.

they dont make an extended cab long bed...they were all short beds.

i think youll run into issues where the frame "steps up" under the bed. its probably possible, but will require some special cab mounts in the rear and definitely a lot of work to make the bed fit.

well on my reg cab i shortened the frame 3inches, i dont need the bed. but i just thought what everyone would think. i might do it one day.

At first i didnt think it was possible, that something wouldnt line up properly. So this is all news to me.
Now when i do my body swap for my chevy i know i can add regular cabs of the same truck into the mix :D Should be the same.. no?

The regular cab frame raises just after the cab and if you want to mount an extended cab you either have to put on an 8 or 10" lift to clear the frame or you need to cut the back out of the extended cab and weld new mounts...

I was going to do this on my Ranger...too much hacking and adjusting for my liking...it can be done, but do you really want to have to go through all that?

The main reason I didn't hack the cab was because it was in mint condition...no rusted corners or rotted posts...so I left it on the extended cab frame...

38" :derisive:

Just remember that truck is on a B2 frame which ( I am lazy ) might be smaller then a reg cab Ranger.

BII is 94"

short box standard cab is 108"

but i think the more important thing to note is that i dont think the BII frame has the "step" up after the cab.

Thought I recognized that truck...that's what inspired me to try to do the same to my truck...there is a BII for sale around here that I can get for $500 but I don't want to spend another dime on the truck until I find another job...

I didn't get a chance to look at the frame on a BII and I remember reading how the one in the picture was done...still don't want to hack the cab if possible...but I do like the look of that truck!

I read where he only had to "notch" the rear of the cab to make it clear the wheel...
