What is the bolt size for the ext cab door striker? I looked all over the internet can't find the size.. They get rusted out along with the striker.. I ordered 2 new black strikers but need the 2 bolts that go in them.. I know they are torx bolts but what are the measurements.. Want to get them out before I have to heat them up, rust is setting in and want to get new before to late..

Have you tried LMC?

Im unsure of the size.

try using these terms (I couldn't find such an animal for 2001, but did for 2002+ which I find stupid since they are the same).... "striker screw" (ford called it a screw for the ranger), or "striker bolt" (ford called it a bolt for the F series Econoline, etc).
I spent the last 20 minutes on fordpartscatalog.com and didn't get the exact right one, but the 2002 is $2.04 for a set of 4 at the stealership.

See that on there.. They still don't list the size of the bolt.. It's like the biggest mystery in the world.. Every diagram I have seen show the striker plate but never a bolt to go in it.. Other trucks have the striker plate and a bolt u can look up.. The Rangers never list the bolt on there diagrams.. I wanted to buy stainless bolts to put in so won't have to worry about them rusting out again..

yeah the whole reason I was hunting for the ford part number is so that with the part number I could find the specs by hunting down the part based on number... I have a thread gauge set in both SAE and metric, so could measure it with calipers and a TPI gauge and give you a size in 30 seconds after you pull it but I don't think you are gonna get it without visiting a dealer or pulling the one you have.

Ford Really liked using M6 all over (6mm shaft uses an 8mm socket if it was hex head), I didn't pull the one of the '07 in the stable but I bet it is a M6 just from looking at it.

You're probably done by now but when I bought my door stricker from partsgeek it came with the two bolts. The manufacturer was "Replacement". I had to heat up the old bolts to remove them but they came out easily. That worked much better than Deep Creep.
