Has anyone installed a safari bar or brush guard on an 02-05 Ford Explorer 4dr?
I ordered a safari bar and when recieved the mounting bolts have to slide down the frame rail to the pre-drill holes in the frame. It looks like I'll have to take apart the front bumper, but wasn't sure how big of a job it was? I'm going to pick up a Hayes manual but wasn't sure if anyone here has installed one that could give some insight on.

Thanks.

I installed the safari bar in 45 minutes and was simple to do after further investigating the bumper. There were four bolts that loosed the bumper cover enough to slip the bolts down the frame rail. The black rubber piece that goes under the valance had to be trimmed some to accomediate the mounting brackets. I mounted 500w 6inch off road lights to it and it looks really good.
Now my question is: In the center of the dashboard of the Explorer are push buttons for the 4x4 and the right side has spare buttons. Can those spare buttons be made into a working push switch?
