i need a fender for a 92 ranger, went to the local junk yard and the only one they have thats in decent shape is on a 90 explorer, will it work?

um... probably not. if you have a 30 day return policy at the junk-yard, I'd give it a shot though.

i gotta buy the return policy at my local yard, its only a few bucks extra but for the question of just not knowing it would definately be worth it i suppose. another reason im highly interested in the explorer fenders, that is if they will indeed swap, is that they appear to have a much larger flare to them then the ranger fenders do. can anyone touch on that, i didnt have a tape measure or anything but just by eye ballin it its alot larger. maybe tomorrow ill just try it for the hell of it, if it doesnt work ill take it back

with the first gen explorers , the fender should fit the ranger , the bodies were a mirror image of each other , it was not until 95(explorer) or 93(ranger) that the bodies differed , the fender off a 91-94 explorer should fit any 88-92 ranger

thats awesome! what about the doors? this explorer has power windows and door locks, i kinda like that

NO the 91-94 explorer fenders wont fit. the body lines off. The only thing that really fits is the headlights.

doors are way diffrent too.

89-92 ranger fenders will fit your ranger

doors from 83-92 will fit, but you have to change some of the tabs around on the inside to get the inner door panles to fit.

i just looked at a few pics, the body lines are definately off. other than that the fender will just go from one to the other correct? im interested in how they flare out more then the ranger does, not really concerned about the body lines to be honest, going on a prerunner project so im wondering since it flares out drasticly more then the rangers does as well as the flare being higher if my tires will tuck in them on full compression.

the doors i wasnt sure about, they appear to be alot longer then the rangers are, it would be nice to have electric windows etc but its not a requirement.

The explorer fenders will bolt on, but as said the body lines are different.

The doors are way too long on the other hand to fit a ranger tho.

well can someone correct me if im wrong that the explorers do flare out more, just visually looking at it they look quite a bit different, but if its not worth it then its just not worth it, id rather just hold onto the money and get some fiberglass ones eventually

ranger and bronco ii from that gen... i had the same issue... there are tones of exploders in the yards but not rangers and b2's
