will a 130 amp alternator bolt right up to my 4.0 sohc? how hard is the install process? anyone else running one, know where to get one on the cheaps? thanks

As long as the donor expo is a 4.0L SOHC, yes it'll bolt right up.

I am about ready to do this mod, but on my truck I've got an extra one wire connector....something the '02 expo I'm taking the alt from doesn't have. Still gotta figure that one out.

It's as hard as replacing an alternator(4 bolts).

I think all explorers have 130a alts... mounting points are different between the different engines...

i'm putting in my new h/o alternator, and realize that on my stock alternator there is an extra wire clip with one white wire going to it that my new alternator doesn't have? what do i do?

i'm working with the 4.0 sohc motor

can i get an alt off an 93 plus explorer and it be a 130 amp?

I dont know about any 93+... BUT When my 95amp died on my 3.0, looked one up for a 95 explorer V8 (130amp). It fit no problem, and was the same price, and no more dimming lights at idle...
