I would like to install a rear end off of a Ford Explorer into my 92 supercab.

One of my questions is, even though the explorer axle is about 3'' wider than the ranger, is it noticeable to the regular eye?

I am trying to keep this as much a sleeper as I can and I don't want the rear end to look too much wider than the front.

You can always account for the width by getting wheels with different backspacing as well.

Could you guys post some pics of the back end of your Rangers? I just want to see the difference for myself.

Before I forget, I have to ask, is there a clearance issue with the tire and the inner wheel well because it sticks out an inch and a half?

I am planning on putting a 2'' body lift on it and I think that it should clear, what do you guys think?

Well I kinda rigged mine, Instead of moving the leaf pearchs on top of the axel like they were on the stock ranger one, i kept them on the bottem. So it dropped my truck like 31/2 inches in the back and now it bottems out over every bump... im going to either move them to the top or get heavy duty springs. I cut my fenders to clear the 28x10 slicks but i dont know if it would hit with the stock tires on?

Here is mine.

it depends on the off set of the rims to. how far they will stick out. i have 2'' of tire sticking out because i have a 4'' back spaceing.

I have the stock Ford aluminum rims that came with the truck. I am not sure what the stock offset would be though.

you need a 8 inch rear out of a pinto or mustang 2 alot better fir more tire and alot stronger than 8.8 guys get stuck on stupi with these 8.8 when the 8 s way stronger and easy to come by

A 8.8 is plenty strong. The Exlorer 8.8's are already 31 spline.
