I have a 92 explorer 8.8 im swapping in to my 86 ranger extended cab.
My question is for those who have done it already what did you set your pinion angle at? I know in the tech section it says 6 degree's, i was told by a ford mechanic to set it at 2 degree's. I have a 2 piece drive line at this point but i plan on swapping it to a 1 piece soon also.

any advice is helpful :icon_cheers:

I set mine at 6 degrees, i'm running 6" of lift with a 1 piece shaft with no problems. I measured the pinion angle on the stock 8.8 I pulled out and it was 6 degrees as well.

Just measure the old one and match the new one to it, you can always shim it if it needs adjusting.
